Wow a whole new meaning to the line: a pox on both your houses. Also Trixie is in denial and wants any attention she can get. I pity her in a way she has no friends and pushes people away with her "I'm better than you are" attitude.
I don't know. I'm still hoping for a "Forgive and Forget" episode redeeming Trixie in season 3.
Great ideas. Your art isn't close to show-grade yet, but it's definitely improving. Your own style shows in the details, though, such as the shading of the shield and the ruffles at the hems of Trixie's sleeves. Nice.
Lastly, OH GOD MORE PARASPRITES WORST HATE MAIL EVER WORSE THAN ANTHRAX *flails*
I probably took "your art isn't close to show-grade yet" as more of an insult than you intended, feels like something you'd say to a 7 year old with a crayon. And the things you complimented are things that I've been doing since I started drawing. I understand what you were going for, but it feels like your saying I'm improving but you haven't actually looked at anything else I've done.
My apologies. I hadn't meant to be insulting in the least, that was not in any way my intention.
As for the compliments, I guess this is just my untrained eye noticing these things for the first time, and noticing how good they were. Detail work usually escapes me, but when I notice it, I have to comment on how much I like it. It's totally subjective, I know, but at least I'm trying, right?
And I have seen some of your other stuff. I was referring to the difference in quality between this picture and your Derpy tarot card. As you've said, you're not aiming for show-accuracy, you're just drawing what you want. That leaves me with no criteria by which to judge save my subjective opinions, so... this is more like something that I like (the show), and thus an improvement (by my own aesthetic standard).
Lastly, I don't think it'd hurt too badly to not automatically assume that when someone says something about your wonderful art that it's derogatory. If it's a vague comment, take it as the good! Life's remarkably more kind and less cranky that way.
I'm sorry, I actually usually do have a motto of thinking the best of people, and on several occasions when faced with vague comments I have made the effort to think of them in a positive light, I think I just took that in the exact wrong way, or i was in a bad mood at the time (answering comments right after a long shift when I'm half asleep is never a good idea.) I am very sorry about that, believe me, I have quite a track record of saying things that get taken the wrong way and I know how it feels, I always swore I would never be that guy, my bad.
Are you going to finish that tarot deck, by the way? Or would you be up for an even geekier project... a ponified "Deck of Many Things" from Dungeons and Dragons? That would be hilarious, and a worthy use of your skills.
Honestly... I don't understand why a lot of people believe/are so against Trixie, because of the 'Ursa Minor' thing... It's as if people thought the ponies from Ponyville were all morons or something ?
I mean, sure, Trixie was all haughty and stuff, by herself and as a part of her ''act'' on stage... but, it's the 2 dumb colts (Snips and Snail) that went and poked a beast FIFTY TIMES their size and 'dragged' it to Ponyville ! Logically, Ponyville's ponies would just be not talking to her and walk away from her in an angry fashion, not threaten her. Same but even less for other towns, which aren't even likely to have heard of the event.
